12 DAYS / 11 NIGHTS MT. PHONGUN RAZITowering 11430 feet (3485 meters) above the sea situates in the Putao region is the most suitable peak to climb among the many peaks in the region. Generally covered with snow between November and May is about 80 kilometer North West of Putao near Myanmar - Indian border. The remoteness and difficult accessibility of the region has helped to maintain the pristine purity of it forest and eco-systems. The richness of it's biodiversity deserves to be maintained and fostered in the interest of coming generations and present unparalleled opportunities to present-day professionals in the field of zoology, botany, forestry, environmental protection, conservation and ecology as well as hardy eco-tourists and mountaineers who prefer the challenge of a testing back-packing trip in the mountain fastness of Myanmar to a tour of routine attractions in the more accessible urban centers.

| DAY 01
(Friday)
MANDALAY –
PUTAO (L,D) Transfer to Mandalay International Airport for your flight to Putao (460 meter), a small town surrounded by ranges of snow-capped mountains. Upon arrival transfer to Putao Trekking House for check-in. Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch walk for approximately 2 hours, through cultivated rice fields, to Majaw Wa, a beautiful Lisu village, whose backdrop is dominated by the snow-covered mountain Simatdin. Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight at Putao Trekking House. |

| DAY 02
(Saturday)
PUTAO
– SHANGAUNG – WASUNDUM (jeep/trek) (B,L,D) After breakfast visit the attractive Putao market with its colourful local tribes such as Rawan, Lisu Kachin etc. Later depart by jeep or truck (depending on the group size) to upper Shangaung (16 km, approx 1 hour). This village has inhabitant of both Lisu and Rawan tribes. Your adventure starts as you get off the jeep and start trek to Wasundum village (19 km, approx 6 hours) through Mt. Shangaung at approx 4600 feet (1400 meters) by the shoulder of Mt. Slimatdin 6000 feet (1830 meters). The first day is a good test for this trek, as you have to ascend to 4600 feet (1400 meters) and then descend back to 3000 feet (914 meters) with a distance of 12 miles. Wasundum is a small Rawan village situates by Namlan creek. You will have pack lunch on the way and dinner will be freshly cooked and to be served local style. You will spend the night at Wasundum Guest House with local style central fire place. (foam mattress, blanket and pillow will be provided) |

| DAY
03 (Sunday) WASUNDUM –
AWADUM - KALANG – ZIYADUM
(trek) (B,L,D) After breakfast leave the village for Ziyadum. Today will be much easier, as the path goes through relatively flat land with just a bit of ups and downs. First cross Namro Creek to Awadum village (6.4 km, approx 2 hours). Awadum village is mainly inhabited by Lisu tribe and separate in to two by a large paddy field. Here we cross a suspension bridge that span Namlang creek to Kalang (Rawan tribe). On a sunny day, you will find blazing Mt. Phonyin Razi just a hand reach away. After a short lunch stop continue to Ziyadum (5.6 km, approx 2 hours) through deeper evergreen forest. Ziyadum, situate at an altitude of 3440 feet (1050 meters) is the most northwestern and last frontier village in the Putao region, mainly inhabited by Rawan tribe. There will be plenty of time to settle down once you arrive Ziyadum. It is recommended to visit Ziya creek for a fantastic sunset view with blazing Snow Mountains in the west which spark in to steady flowing Ziya creek. A pre dinner cocktail will be served over a bonfire on the deck that overview Ziya creek. Overnight will be at Rawan traditional style Ziya lodge. (basic standard facilities such as proper sleeping facility, warm water and western toilet will be provided) |

| DAY 04 (Monday) ZIYADUM –
CHAUNGZONE– LOWER THITPINGYI CAMP (trek) (B,L,D) After breakfast depart for Chaungzone (8 km, approx 3 hours) leaving human inhabitant behind. Trek along Phangran creek among deep evergreen forest with slightly ups and downs. After lunch (packed lunch) cross a suspension bridge over Phangran creek and continue trek along mule track (steep uphill) until you get to lower Thitpingyi camp (4.8 km, approx 2 hours), situated at approx 4800 feet (1460 meters) above sea level. This will be of our first night of wildness camping. You have out dinner and overnight at camp. (tent, sleeping bag and inflatable mattress will be provided). |

| DAY
05 (Tuesday) LOWER THITPINGYI CAMP – KHAN TAUT MYIT
(trek) (B,L,D) After breakfast continue trek up hill to Khan Taut Myit camp (8 km, approx 6 hours). After a few kilometers trek up on mule trek, the path continues with deep ups and downs along a narrow shoulder of a smaller cliff. Nevertheless today’s trekking route will be the best experience passing through variety of forest type and bird life as you pass through evergreen forest in to hill pine forest and now in to moist upper deciduous forest. You will see Rhododendron flowers in their blossom and trees having thick moss on them. Khan Taut Myit, situate approx 8500 feet (2575 meters) above sea is the most beautiful spot for overnight, having large trees with colorful Rhododendron bushes around. You have packed lunch on the way and dinner and overnight at camp. |

| DAY 06
(Wednesday) KHAN TAUT MYIT – SNOW LINE (trek) (B,L,D) After breakfast continue trek to snow line, (6.4 km, approx 3 - 4 hours depends on camp situation). Today trek route will be strenuous with narrow line through beautiful pine elevation with moist upper deciduous forest yet fill with Rhododendron flowers make the scenery impressive. There are three different camps on snow line according to the snowfall. Elevation at this point will be approx 10000 feet (3050 meters). Lunch on the way, dinner and overnight at camp. Tonight you will have to prepare for cold weather as temperature could be freezing during the night. |

07 (Thursday) SNOW LINE - MT. PHONGUN SUMMIT – SNOW LINE
(trek) (B,L,D) After an early breakfast trek to the summit at 11430 feet (3485 meters). The trekking distance is just little over 4 kilometer, but depending on snow falling conditions, it could take anything between 3 to 7 hours to get to the summit. If the weather is clear, it is possible to experience spectacular views all round and see as far as the lands of India's Himachal Pradesh to the west. Return to your camp. Lunch, dinner and overnight at camp. |

08 (Friday) SNOW LINE CAMP – KHAN TAUT MYIT CAMP –
THITPINGYI CAMP (trek) (B,L,D) Breakfast and relax through the morning admiring the fantastic surrounding. After early lunch trek back to lower Thitpingyi camp through Hkan Taut Myit camp and upper Thitpingyi camp. First part of the trek has some interesting ups and downs with a constantly changing topography, flora and fauna. After Khan Taut Myit camp you will be on the mule trek again and easy follow down hill trek all the way. Dinner and overnight at camp. |

09 (Saturday) THITPINGYI CAMP – CHAUNGZONE – ZIYADUM
(trek) (B,L,D) After breakfast and continue to Ziyadum passing Chaungzone camp through nice and easy down hill on mule trek. Once you cross Phangran creek by suspension bridge you get in to dense evergreen forest and the route goes through winding along Phangran creek with ups and downs. Hot shower and a warm bed by all mean will be of a greatest enjoyment and comfort. Relax through the afternoon. Have a celebrating dinner over bonfire and enjoy a comfortable night after several nights in harsh condition and crawling in a tent. Overnight at Ziya Lodge. |

| DAY 10 (Sunday) ZIYADUM -
WASUNDUM (trek) (B,L,D) Have another lazy morning as the trek today by all means is not strenuous and relatively short. After an early lunch, bid farewell to the blazing mountains and head back to Wasundum, crossing suspension bridges and trek through beautiful Evergreen Avenue. Dinner and overnight at Wasundum Guest House. |

11 (Monday) WASUNDUM – SHANGAUNG -
PUTAO (trek/jeep) (B,L,D) Having left the wilderness behind and returning to the clutches of human civilization trek uphill to the plateau of Mount Shangaung, before continuing rapidly downhill to Shangaung village where your jeep is waiting for you. Upon arrival in Putao, transfer to Putao Trekking House for check-in. Rest of the day free at your own leisure. Farewell dinner at a local restaurant and overnight at Putao Trekking House. |
