The Malikha Lodge
 The Malikha Lodge is the perfect introduction and
final farewell to Northern Katchin State. Perched high
above the Nam Lang River with glorious views of
mountains and rice terraces. The Malikha Lodge has been
designed by world famous architect Jean Michel Gathy of
Aman Resorts fame to create a feeling of luxury and
seclusion in this wilderness setting.
The focal point of the Malikha Lodge is the main
lodge, where guests come to gather around two blazing
log fires for drinks, dining or just relaxation. Daytime
activities range from short jungle treks to mountain
biking, scenic raft trips and kayaking.

For the more sedate, one can simply laze on our
riverside deck or enjoy an open-air massage in our
bamboo grove spa.
The resort’s manicured lawns and exotic gardens are
carefully landscaped to merge with pockets of old growth
bamboo and jungle. Traditional style bungalows have been
carefully placed to create a sense of idyllic village
life in this open garden paradise.
Each bungalow is a spacious living area centred upon
an open fireplace, in keeping with traditional village
houses. Placed discreetly amongst towering bamboo trees,
one has the feeling of total privacy and relaxation. An
open bath next to the fireplace completes the sense of
indulgency and luxury, while from the private daybeds
views of the distant mountains can be enjoyed through
the foliage.
 In keeping with our feeling of a private house party
our chef will prepare a choice of set menus for lunch
and dinner, including one vegetarian option. The theme
is refined continental country style in keeping with the
wilderness mountain location. With advance notice,
special dietary requirements or special events can be
catered for. All meals are taken at the Main Lodge,
although we can offer room service upon request. Drinks
and light snacks are available at the pool area during
the daylight hours of 10.00am to 5.00pm only.
A short stroll through our gardens, amidst an exotic
collection of local orange, grapefruit and plum trees,
sits our intimate and secluded spa. Each of our
treatment rooms is partially open to the elements, and
is warmed by a central fireplace. Qualified therapists
offer a range of therapeutic and holistic treatments
The property also features a black slate tiled
swimming pool and relaxation area for lounging in the
warm Putao winter sunshine. Five minutes walk down to
the riverfront, private areas have been set aside for
swimming in the cold but pristine waters of the Nam Lang
River and lazing in the sun.
