8 DAYS IN THE MERGUI ARCHIPELAGO

Board the MV Sea Gipsy, a Burmese-style junk, and discover the Mergui archipelago for 4 whole days. Stop at the islands of Taung La Bo and Poni for some fun in the water. Sail to Lampi Island for a kayak trip up the magnificent mangrove river. Visit a Moken village – home to the ‘sea gypsies’. Stop on mountainous Ba Wei Island, with its high cliffs, and take the kayak past the huge rock arch. Discover the underwater world of Boulder Bay Reef; if the tide allows, you’ll have the opportunity to explore this amazing island and its many exciting hiking trails.

Day 1 YANGON – KAWTHAUNG

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Kawthaung. Upon arrival, transfer to Victoria Cliff Hotel for check-in. For the rest of the day: car and driver at your disposal to explore Kawthaung on your own. Overnight at Victoria Cliff Hotel.

Day 2 KAWTHAUNG – TAUNG LA BO ISLAND – PONI ISLAND – ISLAND 115 (B, L, D)

You will arrive in Kawthaung at approx. 09:00 a.m. So if you have an early flight to catch, you won't be rushed. In Kawthaung, our staff will assist you with a return flight to Yangon.

MV SEA GIPSY

MV Sea Gipsy is a Burmese-style junk that provides the perfect platform from which to go on snorkelling and adventure excursions and romantic overnight trips.
Experience the breeze of adventure in the last remaining piece of paradise on the most unique vessel in the Mergui Archipelago. The MV Sea Gipsy’s huge sundeck invites you to stretch out on deck chairs to sunbathe in style or relax under the stars with a glass of wine.
Experience a variety of dishes from Burmese, Thai and European cuisine as well as the numerous snacks available here throughout the day such as fresh fruits and tasty cookies. Beer and a fine selection of wines are also available at the Galley Bar.
There’s a diving platform at the stern with one water exit ladder to allow for easy access to and from the boat. The tastefully decorated boat features 5 comfortable open-air gazebos on the main and upper decks, which are transformed into beds with curtains.
